Acupuncture at
Triune Wellness
Triune Wellness now offers acupuncture in Hopkinton, MA, adding a proven, needle-based therapy to our whole-body approach to healing.
Acupuncture works well on its own, and it works even better paired with the other care you're already receiving — whether that's Chiropractic Care, Massage Therapy, or your broader wellness plan. We can coordinate with your existing providers so your treatment feels like one plan, not four separate ones.

Whether you're dealing with chronic pain, stress, poor sleep, hormonal imbalances, or tension that hasn't responded to other treatments, Acupuncture works with your body's own systems to restore balance and support lasting relief.
Acupuncture Care
At Triune Wellness, our acupuncture care focuses on restoring balance, movement, and function throughout your entire body.
Every visit includes a real conversation about what's going on, careful pulse and palpation assessment, and a treatment built around what your body actually needs that day. Instead of chasing symptoms, our Acupuncturists look for the root cause: whether it's hormonal imbalance, digestive dysregulation, chronic pain, fertility support, or stress held in the nervous system.
Each session is personalized, using thin, gentle needles paired with supportive techniques and simple at-home guidance so you can heal faster, feel more like yourself, and stay well long-term.

Our Acupuncture Services
Gentle Needling
Our approach leans gentle by design. Rather than a one-size-fits-all protocol, treatment is adjusted by depth, technique, and needle placement based on what your body actually needs and how you respond in the moment.
Cupping
Cupping uses suction (via glass, silicone, or plastic cups) to draw skin and superficial muscle tissue upward, increasing local blood flow and creating negative pressure over an area of the body. Cupping often leaves circular bruise-like marks (from mild to more pronounced) that fade over several days to two weeks.
Gua sha
Gua sha involves scraping the skin with a smooth-edged tool (traditionally jade, horn, or stone; often stainless steel or resin now) to move blood flow to the surface.

Conditions We Treat
Our Acupuncturists treat a wide range of conditions, from physical ailments and pain, to hormonal imbalances, to anxiety and stress. If something hurts, feels out of balance, keeps coming back despite other treatments, or just feels stuck, we can help.

What to expect your first visit.
Before you come in...
You'll compete an intake form covering your health history, current concerns, and what you're hoping to get out of treatment. The more context we have, the more targeted your first session can be. You can share your insurance information with our billing team who will check your benefits to see if Acupuncture is covered for you.
Before your first session, eat a light meal and come wearing comfortable clothing. We suggest not scheduling anything too strenuous afterwards.

During your visit (60 minutes):
Your first appointment starts with an in-depth conversation, including questions about the issue you're coming in for, but also your sleep, digestion, stress levels, and cycle if relevant. We'll performs any diagnostic testing, such as taking your pulse and checking your tongue. From there, we explain the approach for you specifically, and you'll have your first treatment.

The needles, honestly:
Most people are surprised by how little they feel the needles. Acupuncture needles are hair-thin, nothing like the needles used for shots or blood draws. Most people find the sessions deeply relaxing, and it's completely normal to doze off on the table while we let you rest for 20-30 minutes.

If you're needle-nervous, tell us before your session starts. We can adjust the approach, start with fewer points, or ease you in... there's no version of "toughing it out" required here.

After your visit:
We will talk through what the recommendations going forward, and how many sessions it typically takes to see results for your specific concern. Some people feel a shift after one visit; others need a series of sessions to see lasting change.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Acupuncture hurt?
Not in the way people expect. The needles are extremely thin (much thinner than a shot needle), and most people feel little more than a light pinch, if anything at all.
How many visits will I need?
It depends on what you're treating. Acute issues (like a recent injury) may resolve in a few sessions; chronic or hormonal concerns typically benefit from a series over several weeks to months. We will give you a realistic plan after your first two visits.
Do I need to do anything to prepare?
Eat something light beforehand (don't come in starving), wear comfortable clothing, and try not to schedule anything too rushed right after — a lot of people leave sessions in a pretty mellow state.
Do you accept insurance for Acupuncture visits?
Yes, we accept most major insurance plans for Acupuncture, though coverage will vary on carrier and your specific plan. Contact our office at (508) 810-0220 to verify your coverage before your first visit.
