Supporting Your Heart for Strength, Energy, and Longevity

February is Heart Health Month at Triune Wellness, and it’s a perfect time to pause and reflect on how well we’re caring for one of the hardest-working organs in the body: your heart.
Your heart beats over 100,000 times a day, pumping oxygen and nutrients to every cell. When the heart struggles, the effects ripple throughout the entire body: energy drops, healing slows, inflammation rises, and long-term disease risk increases.
Why Heart Support Is Important
Heart health isn’t just for avoiding heart attacks, though that's ideal, it’s for optimal circulation, balanced blood pressure, stable blood sugar, healthy cholesterol patterns, and resilient blood vessels.
Many people don’t realize that heart issues often develop quietly over decades, influenced by daily habits like food choices, stress levels, sleep quality, movement, and inflammation. The choices we make NOW will affect how we are in the future.

From a chiropractic and functional medicine perspective, heart health directly ties into the nervous system, spinal alignment (especially the upper thoracic region), breathing mechanics, and chronic stress. Supporting the heart means supporting the whole system while also optimizing numbers on a lab report.
Insights from The Natural Way to Heart Health
In the book The Natural Way to Heart Health, Jack Wolfson emphasizes a key truth: heart disease is largely a lifestyle-driven condition, not simply a genetic one. His paleo-inspired approach focuses on reducing inflammation, stabilizing blood sugar, correcting nutrient deficiencies, and supporting the heart as a muscle just like you would support any other muscle in the body.
The book reinforces that cholesterol alone is not the enemy. Instead, chronic inflammation, oxidative stress, insulin resistance, and nutrient depletion are major drivers of cardiovascular problems.
This aligns closely with our Triune philosophy: address root causes, not just symptoms.
Chiropractic care, lifestyle coaching, nutritional support, stress regulation, and functional blood work all work together to support your heart, naturally.
Practical Choices for Heart Health
So, what consistent choices can we make that will improve heart health? Here are four main categories to prioritize the heart:
Food Choices: Prioritize whole, unprocessed foods: quality proteins, healthy fats, vegetables, and minerals. Also, reduce refined sugars and industrial seed oils that increase inflammation.
Movement: Walking, strength training, and gentle cardio activities improve circulation and vascular health, and control insulin sensitivity. Even small choices (dancing to music at home, choosing the stairs instead of the elevator, etc.) can help.
Sleeping habits: Poor sleep is strongly linked to heart disease, blood pressure issues, and metabolic dysfunction. Try to unplug 30 minutes before bed time, and wind down the same time each night to create a sleep routine.
Manage stress: Chronic stress overstimulates the heart and blood vessels. Deep breathing, prayer or meditation, massage therapy, time outdoors, and general nervous system regulation matter more than most people realize.

BONUS Category: Supplementation

This past October, I ran a half marathon with very little training, which tested my cardiovascular endurance. During preparation, I consistently used Cardiotrophin PMG, Cardio Plus, and Regenerzyme Heart, our featured supplements this month, to support the heart muscle function, blood circulation, and overall cardiovascular endurance. I credit these supplements with helping my heart and blood flow keep up with the physical demands of running and allowing me to finish strong despite the limited training. This just shows how tailored nutrition and supplementation can aid in heart function, which plays a role in overall body function.
For the month of February 2026, TAKE 10% OFF RegenerZyme Heart, Cardiotrophin PMG, and Heart Harmony when purchased in our office.
This month, we invite you to take one intentional step for your heart. Small, consistent changes today create powerful protection for decades to come. If you have questions about heart health, supplements, or functional testing, our team is here to guide you.
